Things are easier said than done, or so the old adage goes, and we couldn’t agree more. That’s why we do The GOOD 30-Day Challenge, a monthly attempt to live better. For the month of June, GOOD staffers have committed to cutting down their meat consumption or giving up meat entirely. Some of us will try to go vegan. Join us! We’ll be using the hashtag #30DaysofGOOD to keep you abreast of our progress, and we hope you’ll use it to let us know how you’re faring as well.

30 Day Gratitude Challenge”
I invite you to be apart of a 30 Day Challenge to “Focus On Gratitude” for 15 minutes twice per day (once in the morning and once in the evening) while keeping a Journal during the 30 day process. The challenge Starts Sunday June 12 through July 12. Your invited to post and share your comments and insights through out the 30 days here on the Event Page.

As we Open up to the energy of Gratitude we allow Love to come in.. This Divine energy has the ability to bring peace, harmony & clarity to all situations. As we open up to it we are shown areas where we can be more patient, forgiving & compassionate. Most of the time these areas of compassion have more to do with our own misconceptions rather than the beliefs that others need to change. When we accept a change in our own perceptions we change our focus. And, when we change our focus we are able to see the beauty in what was always there.

I chose the Butterfly photo for this post because it represents “Change/Metamorphosis” . I believe in the power of the Divine (which is apart of us all) to move in a might way in our lives to facilitate positive change in our attitudes, personal perspectives, relationships, finances, all affairs and in our world. ♥ ~Angela Jackson~

Wow!!!! I got this email from Legion today….

Jullien,

How are you? How are things going with the book or shall I say books plural?

I wanted to let you know about what I’ve been on recently because it was very much inspired by your 30 Day Do It campaign.

In the past month of March I dedicated myself to MassQing every day for 30 days. It started off really as a self dare but quickly blossomed into a sort of way of life, and something very important and sacred to me. The process of researching, conceptualizing, preparing, painting, photographing, and meditating on these MassQs has been an incredible journey, mentally physically and spiritually.

But somethings are better shown than told: www.monthofthemassq.com

I am now gearing up to share all that I’ve done with the rest of the world, in an online multimedia gallery of sorts entitled “Month Of The MassQ” planned for a release this coming May ie in a few weeks. Right now I’m just trying to get the word out to everybody. But I would love to talk to you further about how to cross promote.

I hope you enjoy the preview, when you get the chance join the facebook page and check out the document I’ve attached, which I call The MassQ Manifesto which explains in depth what the MassQ means to me and what it can mean to the rest of the world. As always I would love to hear your thoughts, opinions and ideas on everything and will continue to keep you updated. I hope that you will do the same. And thanks again for all that you are doing. Your message and mission is a major inspiration and example. And your website has been an incredible resource for me. I am beginning to understand my purpose you have played a significant role in that.

Looking forward to being in touch,
It was created by Fastgirls and Founder of Gye Nyame Empowerment Project, Akua Soadwa. It is perfect for the over-worked parent, the burdened employee, the heartbroken Single person, the mourning child, the struggling student, the stressed community leader and the metaphysical philosopher. It started two days ago, but you can get into it and catch up easily. For example, Day One was to create a Self-Love Jar and Day Two was to say 5 loving things to yourself in the mirror. You have until 11:59PM tonight to join us by completing the form linked below. That simple. (I know, my bad I didn’t get this to you sooner!) It doesn’t cost anything to join us; however, you may incur costs to do a few of the things (wearing a flower on your clothing or in your hair).

Akua will send you the list of things to do after you complete the linked form below. If you think it is something other women in your life would love, please send their way and have them join you! You’ll be added to a google-group to hear from others about how this is impacting their lives and you are encouraged to share (that you can request to be removed from if all the love is too much for your inbox).

The in-take form MUST be completed by 11:59pm Weds, April 6th.

Akua aka “the Activator” Presents
Re-Loaded: 30-Day Self-Love Challenge (Round 2)
Monday, April 4, 2011 though Wednesday, May 4, 2011.

BACKGROUND

Too often I have found myself seeking refuge in someone else to fulfill me – to make me happy – to motivate me to do this, and to do that. I have complained about others not being committed (to their word, to their work, to me, to…you name it). I have been frustrated with others not being committed to me, not doing what they said they would do, not being there for me the way they said they would be there for me.

However I had no idea that the very thing we are most frustrated with can be, and often is, a direct result of what we ourselves are not doing – for ourselves. We often look outside of ourselves to be fulfilled, and if we continue to do this, we will continue to fight a never-ending battle, and therefore we will never be satisfied, we will never be fulfilled because we expect someone else to be the source of our own happiness and well-being.

UPDATE

The first challenge I created was March 1 – March 30, 2011.

40 women committed to being a part of the challenge. We hailed from Brooklyn, the Bronx, Cleveland, Baltimore, Seattle, DC, Philly, Queens Village (NY) and Cairo (Egypt)! We went in!

The feedback I received during and after the challenge was so positive that I am at it again! A lot of us – me included – really saw the added value of choosing ourselves on a regular basis and we also experienced how our interactions with others shifted as a result of it. However, some of us still felt like we haven’t quite mastered the art of choosing self. We know that continuous practice will do the trick! So here we are – back at it again – inviting more of our loved ones to join in the challenge with us!

WHAT’S ALL THE HYPE ABOUT?

This challenge is about choosing ourselves first. It is about loving ourselves so that we can generate our own sense of joy at any moment, regardless of our circumstance, and regardless if someone wants to join in with us. This challenge is about standing inside of our commitment to ourselves. This challenge is an opportunity for us to commit to ourselves so that we can stop complaining about why others aren’t committed to, or committing to us. As soon as we are committed to ourselves, others will be committed to us. As soon as we love ourselves, we will only attract love.
